WEYMOUTH boss Brendon King has warned his players not to under-estimate Swanage Town & Herston ahead of tomorrow’s clash in the Magna Dorset Premier League.

After claiming just two points from their opening three games, the third-bottom Swans held reigning champions Hamworthy Recreation to a 0-0 draw at Magna Road on Tuesday, and the Terras’ boss is expecting them to be pumped up again for their visit to the Bob Lucas Stadium (3pm).

King said: “They have lost a few players this summer so they had a bit of a rebuilding process on their hands, and by the looks of it they have carried that out quite well.

“Any side that goes to Hamworthy Recreation and comes away with a point must not be underestimated, and they will no doubt be relishing coming here tomorrow.

“To have the chance to play at the Bob Lucas Stadium will be like a cup final for all the players that come here and take us on this season and because of that they will no doubt raise their game.

“We have to be aware of that and it is up to our players to respond in the right way. It will be another learning curve for them and they will have to step up and show everyone exactly what they are made of, which I have every confidence they will do.”

Due to the first team’s trip to Evesham United in the Zamaretto Premier Division, King will not be able to confirm his squad for the game until the 11th hour.

He added: “That is just part and parcel of being a reserve-team manger and to be honest I am not too worried about that because I know whatever team we have, it will be one that is more than capable of playing decent football and getting the result.”

The Terras, who will again be without unavailable midfielder Alex Halloran, have had their first two home games postponed this season.

King said: “The fact Wednesday night’s match against Chickerell United had to be called off was unbelievable. I don’t think I have ever known a game to be postponed in mid-August due to a waterlogged pitch before, so it will just be nice to get out there and play.”

Terras (from): A Weeks, N Carroll, Poole, Tribe, Richardson, Litherland, Ironside, McKechnie, Reiffer, Robinson, Taylor, Whyton, Rousell, Mitchell, Greatrex, B King.
