DAN Skelton is set to link up with his two brothers once again after agreeing to swap Portland United for Chickerell United.

Ben and Adam both followed manager Chris Wilson to the Chickens this summer, after Easton United’s decision to fold, and they will be joined by the eldest of the three siblings once his move to Weymouth College has been rubber-stamped.

Wilson said: “I’ve worked with all three at Easton so it’s back to the way it was.

“They are all good lads and I’m looking forward to working with Dan again. He can play anywhere across the back but he has also played up front before and in midfield.”

Dan Skelton is unlikely to make his debut in tomorrow’s visit of Sturminster Marshall (3pm) and the Chickens could be without another four key players for the Magna Dorset Premier League encounter.

Wilson, who will take charge of his first competitive game since returning from holiday, added: “We might have a few players out.

“Rob Maxted is unavailable, Scott Walker is 50-50 at the moment, due to possible work commitments, and we’re not sure if Grant Chance will be available either.

“Andy Perkins picked up a foot injury in pre-season so we’ll have to assess him.

“Sturminster have had a good start to the season but so have we, so we go into the game with a lot of confidence.”

The Chickens were due to take on near neighbours Weymouth Reserves on Wednesday night but a sodden Wessex Stadium surface put paid to those hopes.

Wilson’s charges are now doubly determined ahead of tomorrow’s showdown.

He added: “It was disappointing to see the game called off but what can you do?

“I was excited about the game and I know the lads were desperately disappointed when I told them it was off. I’m sure they will be fired up for tomorrow now.”
