PAUL Payne has insisted the Seasiders will go all out to claim maximum points in tomorrow’s crunch game against table-toppers Parley at Redlands (1.30pm).

Weymouth require six points to guarantee their Dorset Premier League status but they are hell-bent on doing much better than that against a Bournemouth outfit who desperately need a victory to fend off Poole Town and claim the title for a second successive season.

Parley will also be out for revenge after the Seasiders became the first team to beat them at Dean Park in over two years back on June 26.

That day, Weymouth produced their best performance of the season to date in a two-wicket success, which saw Andrew Falloon snare a hat-trick and Jim Ryall score 68. Payne is now hoping for a similar performance.

He said: “Six points would put us 100 per cent safe but we are not concentrating on that, we want the full 20 and everyone is up for it.

“Parley are currently 13 points ahead of Poole at the top of the table so they cannot afford to slip up either so it promises to be a fantastic game, particularly after we beat them earlier in the season. That was by far our best performance of the summer so far and we will need to produce that again tomorrow.”

Even if the Seasiders only claim five points the only way they will finish in the bottom two and go into a relegation play-off game is if Ferndown Wayfarers and Wimborne & Colehill take maximum points from their encounters at Stalbridge and Blandford respectively.

The Seasiders will be without injured bowlers Dan Hutchens and Ben Doidge tomorrow, along with Dave Trotter and Michael Pearce, who are both unavailable. However, they will welcome back Ben Lawes and Ben Ladd-Gibbon, with Simon Mitchem making the step up from the seconds to fill the other void.

Payne added: “Parley are a young team but they bat all the way down. We had them 54-6 at their place but then one of their tailenders came in and scored 95 to take them to a total of 227.

“They also have Raj Naik, who can win a game on his own. They won the title last year and are obviously hoping to retain it this year so we are aware of what we are up against.”

Weymouth: Payne, Ryall, J Armfield, B Lawes, Fitzgerald, Janaway, McKay, Falloon, M Lawes, Mitchem, Ladd-Gibbon.

* Weymouth Seconds will bring the curtain down on their Division One campaign with a mouth-watering clash against champions Suttoners at Dean Park (2pm).

The Seasiders will no doubt be out to avenge the nine-wicket defeat the title winners inflicted on them on June 26.

The game will also mark the end of John Ryan’s spell as captain of the Redlands outfit. The experienced bowler is stepping down, following a successful two-year tenure.

Weymouth Seconds: Ryan, Womble, Carrington, Mote, Almond, Bray, Walton, Sterling, Guest, C Armfield, Tucker.

* Lytchett Manor are the only factor standing in the way of Weymouth Thirds claiming the Division Five title (2pm).

The two teams will meet tomorrow at Redlands where the Seasiders require a win to hold off second-placed Winton Sports Seconds, who currently sit just 0.13 average points adrift. The Bournemouth outfit will host basement boys Broadstone Fourths.

* Portland Red Triangle will complete their season at champions Poole Town Seconds in Division Three while their second-string host Bradford Abbas at Reforne in Division Eight South & West (both 2pm).
