BOSS Trevor Senior believes there is more to come from his Bridport players.

The Bees host third-placed Oldland Abbotonians tonight (7.45pm), char-ged with maintaining their 100 per cent record in Toolstation Western League Division One.

Although pleased with his side’s efforts so far this season, which have yielded four straight wins in all competitions, Senior feels there is plenty more left in the tank.

He said: “Each game has been a different test for us and I’m really pleased with how the lads are dealing with it – they’re coming up with all the answers right now.

“Being near the top of the table is new territory for a lot of them and that isn’t meant to be disrespectful.

“However, we haven’t quite flowed as well as we can, which is a good sign. I know how we can play and I think there is more to come.

“We are playing decent football but hopefully tonight we can play even better.”

Last season saw Oldland prevail in both meetings between the two sides – 2-1 in West Dorset and 2-0 in Bristol – and Senior is keen to avenge those reversals.

Asked if tonight’s encounter would be their toughest test of the season to date, the manager added: “Bradford on the opening day of the season was difficult and I’m sure tonight will be up there alongside it.

“Oldland finished sixth last season and did the double over us, so I think we owe them one.

“It will be a tough test though as they are a solid side. Compared to a lot of teams in the league they are very strong at the back, which is why I was surprised to see them lose 5-2 to Devizes 10 days ago.

“They’ve also got a lad up front called Matt Huxley who scores goals for fun, so we’ll have to watch him.”

Senior is expected to stick with the same formation utilised in Saturday’s 2-0 win at Roman Glass St George due to the continued absence of Matt Moors (ankle) and Chris Clarke (unavailable).

Of the former’s injury, the Bees’ chief said: “Matt’s had an X-ray and thankfully there is no break. It’s badly sprained so he’ll probably be out for another couple of weeks.”
