RECOVERING Brad King snared a third-place finish in the E3 class at the Dyfi Enduro – round five of the British Enduro Champion-ship.

The Dorchester rider has been struggling all year in his bid to regain full fitness after missing three months through severe concussion.

A couple of early crashes in Wales knocked his confidence somewhat but King dusted himself down before recording 14th-place overall in the two-day event, and third in his class.

Reflecting on his performance, King said: “I finished 12th overall after the first day and this put a big smile on my face as I knew it was by far my best ride since returning from injury.

“Day two didn’t go quite as successfully, due in part to a lack of fitness, as I made too many mistakes. I was also struggling with a stomach upset, which meant I couldn’t eat much during the day, therefore I felt happy with managing 14th overall and third in E3.

“The whole event was a big positive for me and I’m looking forward to making further improvements at the final round, which is the Natterjack on September 25-26.”

He added: “I’d like to say a big thank you to everyone who helped out during the event, especially Rob Sartin, Steve Plain, Charlie Evans, Trevor Wood and my family. Also to all my sponsors who are always such a great help.”
