Dorchester Town chief Ashley Vickers has guaranteed there will be no repeat of Tuesday night’s horror show when Woking visit the Avenue Stadium tomorrow (3pm).

The Magpies crashed to a 4-0 defeat at home to Eastleigh in midweek, with the level of performance sparking major concern among the county town faithful.

The Cards also enter tomorrow’s Blue Square Bet South encounter on the back of two successive defeats and Vickers is confident his rock-bottom charges will bounce back.

He said: “We didn’t do anything that we were meant to do on Tuesday. We had a game plan but we didn’t stick to it and we got bullied.

“I have no doubt that we will bounce back though as I have every faith in the boys.

“Woking have had an indifferent start as well but they have a lot of good players, including Dave Gilroy who they managed to get over us after blowing us out of the water in terms of money.

“Dave conducted himself superbly during all of that and we will welcome him tomorrow.

“With all due respect, Woking are under more pressure than us as they have one of the biggest budgets in the league.

“They have a lot of good players though so they need to be respected. But I can guarantee that there won’t be another performance like the one we saw on Tuesday.

“We need to get back to doing what we do best and my faith in the players has not changed one bit.”

Dorchester’s boss though, announced he will shuffle his pack as a result of Tuesday’s poor display.

He added: “There will be changes as you can’t expect to keep the same personnel after a result like that.

“Those who come in need to do the best they can in order to keep the shirt. We have got good competition for places and the boys who haven’t been involved that much so far are unfortunate in that respect.

“I could play the same team that started on Tuesday night and I’m sure they would do their utmost to put that game behind them. But they’re an honest bunch and they know that Tuesday night was unacceptable.”
