DAN Hutchens and Laurie ‘Cube’ Whyte will miss tomorrow’s penultimate game of the season against Stalbrige at Redlands (1.30pm).

Both men are key members of Weymouth’s bowling attack but skipper Paul Payne is confident his side is still strong enough to win the Dorset Premier League encounter.

The Seasiders are currently fourth bottom and with Wimborne & Colehill and Ferndown Wayfarers hot on their heels, a big performance is required to avoid the threat of relegation.

And with Weymouth facing the prospect of playing league leaders Parley in their final match of the campaign, Payne will no doubt be hoping results go his side’s way.

He said: “Cube is unavailable this week and Dan is still out injured. It is not an ideal situation to have two players like that missing at such a crucial stage of the season but we certainly still have enough experience and quality left in the side to go out tomorrow and put in a good performance.”

The Seasiders put on 233-7 at Stalbridge back on June 19, only to suffer a seven-wicket defeat courtesy of a fine knock by opener Stuart Sweatman, who cracked 94 off 67 balls.

Weymouth: Payne, Ryall, Armfield, Fitzgerald, Janaway, McKay, Falloon, Lawes, Doidge, Pearce, Trotter.

* Weymouth Seconds will be looking for a change of fortunes in Division One when they travel to Broadstone Seconds (2pm). The Seasiders have suffered back-to-back defeats in their last two outings.

Weymouth Seconds: Ryan, Womble, Carrington, Weld, Ladd-Gibbon, Bray, Walton, Mitchem, Johnson, Sers, Tucker.

* Likewise, Weymouth Thirds desperately need a winning end to their campaign if they are to claim the title ahead of Winton Sports Seconds at the top of Division Five. The table-topping Seasiders host Ferndown Wayfarers Thirds at Redlands (2pm).
