WEYMOUTH wrestler Robbie Constance will mark his return to the ring in his hometown.

After a five-year absence, the former Dorset Middleweight champion has come out of retirement and will be on the Ocean Room bill this Thursday for the final offering of a two-part wrestling extravaganza at Weymouth Pavilion.

Constance has a new stage name in Robbie Nitro and will unveil his new character at the same venue where he last competed.

Looking ahead to the LDN-organised showpiece, the 28-year-old said: “I’ve not done a show since I retired so I’ve been training really hard in order to get into shape.

“I’ve been doing weight training and getting up at 6am in the morning to go running on the beach.

“I have no idea who I will be fighting – they’re keeping it as a surprise. I went down to LDN’s first show on July 29 and I felt that I wanted to get back into it as I missed the crowd’s reaction.

“All the guys involved are brand new, which is good, and they are very professional.

“I spoke to promoter Sanjay Bagga after the show, we then had an interview and I was delighted when he asked me to be involved.

“I used to do wrestling shows in every town you can think of and I can easily say that Weymouth’s crowd is the best.

“The Ocean Room is also my favourite venue as I made my debut there when I was 17 and it was also where I made my last appearance five years ago.”

Thursday’s action also sees a tag team contest as Team Hate take on Travis and Hakan while Flash Barker takes on ‘Gentleman’ Jon Ritchie in the main event.

The family-friendly spectacular, which also involves a ladder match for the Welterweight Championship, gets underway at 7.30pm with doors open at 7pm.

Tickets are priced at £12 for general admission, £10 for concessions and £35 for families.

Either visit the Pavilion or contact 01834 843568 to purchase tickets.
