KISS My Wrasse impressed in their age group in the RNLI Junior Competition held on Weymouth’s Stone Pier.
A total of eight teams of four took part in the Weymouth Angling Centre sponsored event and with favourable conditions plenty of fish were landed and returned to the sea.
Ryan Casey, George Simmonds, Josh Wilkinson and Sam Short of Kiss My Wrasse caught 47 fish in the one hour, 15 minutes time frame, which gave them victory in the over-12s section ahead of runners-up the Troublesome Trio+1, which included Luke Pettis, Andrew Monelle, Peter Critchell and Kameron Summerhayes. They snared 37.
Jelly Tubbies, who were made up of Lewis Wilkinson, Tom Johnson, Jack Buckland and Sam Tubb, took the under-12s crown with 31 fish while Team Shepton finished second with 26 despite only having three competitors in the form of Nina Shapple, Leah Frapple and Chloe Jones.
All four teams won a selection of fishing tackle provided by Andy Selby of the Weymouth Angling Centre, and a total of £15.50 was also donated to the RNLI.
