LEAM Guest House claimed victory for the third year in a row against Team New Look as they took the Battens Charity Beach Volleyball Tournament honours.
The sun was shining on Weymouth Beach as 30 teams from the local business community took to the sand.
Ocean Spa, Goadsby, DEK, Higos, Atlas Elektronik, Agincare and the Dorset Echo were among those competing but it was Leam Guest House who again proved too good, as they stormed through their matches to eventually take the trophy home.
In a close final, Leam got the better of New Look to run out 20-15 winners.
The Plate competition was won by Swann Recruitment All Stars after they defeated DEK’s Dekkies in a sudden death showdown, 19-18.
Maria Brindley from Battens solicitors said: “We wanted to raise as much money as possible for Dorset-based charities Dorset Wildlife Trust and the West Dorset Women’s Refuge whilst making the event bigger and better than last year.
“We would like to thank all the teams and spectators for helping to do this. We have currently raised over £1,000.
“The most important part of the evening was that everyone had fun on the beach, whilst raising money for a good cause, and from the feedback we have received so far, I think we achieved that.”
