PRIMARY school pupils have tackled an assault course to raise money for PE equipment and to pay for their new mini bus.
Conifers Primary School, in Radipole Lane, Weymouth, held their annual PE 2000 plus event which saw more than 340 children complete laps of the course, which including crawling under nets, hitting balls in the air, doing bench bunny hops and jumping hurdles.
Sports teacher Don Whistance, said: “The children got their friends and families to sponsor them and they managed to raise a magnificent £1,700.
“We have raised £20,000 since we started 10 years ago, which is a tremendous achievement.”
Each year children fill in ‘wish lists’ stating what PE equipment they would like. This year the varied requests have included netball posts, football nets, new rounders bats and a swimming pool.
