SPAIN have bagged their second World Cup triumph of the summer.
Their latest success came at Dorchester Town’s two-day World Cup tournament, which was led by Magpies’ stars James Coutts, Kyle Critchell and Jamie Gleeson.
And Coutts was delighted with how the course went. He said: “It was really good and the numbers were impressive considering it was the first week of the school holidays.
“It was the first time we have held a soccer school at the Prince of Wales and everyone enjoyed it. We split the children into two age groups and then into different teams.
“Spain actually won it so it was just like the real thing. The winners received trophies but it was all about playing games and having fun.
He added: “We also held our new Mini Magpies sessions, for three to five-year-olds, in the mornings and they went really too. We had 12 kids on the first day and 19 on the second, and for a lot of them it was their first time playing football.
“However, every one of them was superb and we’ve now decided to hold another three weeks of it with the next two-day course taking place tomorrow and Friday (9-10am) at the Avenue Stadium.”
Next week sees the girls take centre stage with a three-day course at the Prince of Wales School.
The sessions run from Monday to Wednesday, starting at 10.30am and finishing at 3.30pm.
