DORSET'S bid to win the Minor Counties Championship title was held up yesterday when no play was possible on the opening day of their game against Cornwall at St Austell.
Drizzly rain fell steadily over the ground for most of the day, leaving the players frustratingly kicking their heels in the pavilion until 5.30pm, when the umpires decided no play was possible.
Dorset will hope the three-day encounter can get under way today (11am).
