Portland United manager Stuart Heath has tipped former players Lewis Whyton, Sam Clarke and Alex Halloran to become big hits at the Wessex Stadium.
The talented trio are currently enjoying a positive pre-season at Weymouth and Heath is adamant they can make the grade at Zamaretto Premier Division level after helping the Blues bag a haul of trophies in the Dorset Premier League over the past few seasons.
Speaking ahead of the Terras’ visit to Grove Corner this afternoon (3pm), he said: “Lewis, Sam and Alex were outstanding during their time here, helping the club win many trophies.
“And while it is disappointing to lose them to Weymouth it is right that they are challenging themselves at a higher level and everyone at Portland wishes them well.
“They certainly have the ability to do well there and I believe they have the potential to mirror the impact Steve Devlin has had at Dorchester Town – another lad who has made the step up from the Dorset Premier League.”
