PURBECK Shooting School, near Wareham, raised nearly £6,000 for the Help for Heroes at a Clay Pigeon Charity Shoot.
Proprietor Graham Brown said: “Being situated close to four major Army units this is a charity which we are proud to support and we will make this one of our regular charity events.
“We are regularly supported by local Army members and it is nice to be able to offer our support to those who have unfortunately suffered as a consequence of actions overseas.
“I hope that this will be the first of many successful events in the future and feel that as the success grows it will become a jewel in the crown for Purbeck Shooting School.”
During the afternoon captain Toby Hood of 3 Rifles presented the winning trophy and talked about his experiences in Afghanistan, welcoming support from the general public and Help For Heroes.
Hood, from East Dorset, recently came to Purbeck Shooting School as part of his rehabilitation after being injured while on foot patrol by an improvised explosive device (IED) in Sangin during his second operational tour of Afghanistan.
RESULTS Winners: The Branxholm Beauties (Chris Norcott, Paul Philips, Mark Foster, Mark Ayles).
High Gun: John Stanley.
Top Veteran: Vasel Kosinski.
