PORTLAND Red Triangle skipper Matt Gomm is keeping his cards close to his chest ahead of tomorrow’s Dorset League Division Three clash at Martinstown (2pm).
The islanders will be bidding for a third successive victory at Ashton but will have to rely on three new faces to come in and prove their worth due to unavailabilities.
Gomm, whose side beat promotion hopefuls Cerne Valley by 10 runs last Saturday, said: “The game against Martins-town earlier this season could have gone either way but unfortunately we were on the wrong end of the result so we will be looking to set the record straight this weekend.
“Confidence is sky high in the camp at the moment as you would expect after some impressive victories but we do have to make three enforced changes this week due to holidays and work commitments.
“I have not settled on the final 11 yet but it will be a chance for whoever comes in to stake a claim for a regular first-team place.”
The islanders are currently sixth in the table, two places below Martinstown, who have lost just twice at home all season.
