WEYMOUTH Cougars’ annual presentation day at Willowbed Hall, Chickerell once again proved to be a huge success.
Several hundred people enjoyed a fun day in the Weymouth sunshine, culminating in the presentation of the club’s individual awards.
Cougars’ chairman Pat Crane spoke of the successes both on and off the pitch, as well as the marvellous efforts of the club’s fundraising teams.
Special tribute was paid to Maggie Hallett for her contribution via her bingo nights, Al Newman for organising the club’s Race Day and Neil and Anne Marie’s penalty shootout – all of which raised much needed funds for the seaside outfit.
A special word of thanks went to the Cougars’ many sponsors while Terry White of Snap On Tools was on hand to present his own outstanding performance trophy to Jacob Whittle.
Every year a special trophy is kindly donated by the parents of the late, and sadly missed, John Clarke.
The recipient of this year’s outstanding achievement award was Mark Samways.
Other special achievement awards included the Grip Tyres gong, which went to Aaron Sawyer.
Crane was also keen to point out that many people during the course of the season had contributed to the club’s success and he thanked all players, parents, managers and helpers for their efforts.
