Dorchester Town fans will get a first glimpse of defender Jamie Frampton, wide man Charlie Knight and keeper Mike Hookway in today’s friendly at Wimborne Town (3pm).
Frampton joined the club from rivals Weymouth at the end of last season while Kinght and Hookway, both currently on trial with the county town outfit, have impressed during pre-season training and will be rewarded with a run out against the Zamaretto Division One S&W hosts.
Dorchester are also set to field at least two other unnamed trialists, as well as under-18 graduates Adam Taylor and Dan Spencer. However, summer signing Dave Allen will sit this one out.
Assistant-manager Phil Simkin said: “Charlie Knight has looked really good training so far, so he will feature. Mike Hookway will also play and he’ll share the duties with Regan Coward.
“Jamie Frampton will feature too but Dave Allen won’t. There’s no particular reason why, we know what he can do so we’re just looking to give others a chance.
“We’re under no illusions going into the game as Wimborne are on a high after gaining promotion. They will want to win every game they play, just like we do.”
