Dorchester Town kick-off their pre-season campaign with a trip to Wimborne Town tomorrow (3pm).

The county town Magpies take on the East Dorset Magpies in their first outing since returning to training last weekend.

A handful of new faces may feature for the visitors as boss Ashley Vickers and his assistant Phil Simkin continue to run the rule over this summer's trialists.

Previewing tomorrow’s game at Cuthbury, Simkin said: “We’re hoping to take a reasonably strong side, which will contain some trialists, and I’m sure it’ll be a good run out for both teams.

“These friendlies are for the players to improve their fitness and for us to look at one or two different players.

“We’ve got 10 friendlies which may seem like a lot but you learn so much from these games.

“Things are going well so far and it will be nice to get a game under our belt. The players have all looked after themselves and there won’t be many sides fitter than us.”

Wide man Charlie Knight and keeper Mike Hookway have been training with Dorchester this week and will be hoping to feature against the Zamaretto Division One S&W hosts.

Playmaker Micky Hubbard could begin his trial at the weekend but defender Peter Castle is believed to have joined Gosport Borough.
