LAST YEAR’S runners-up Martinstown remain in the hunt for Dorchester Evening League Knockout Cup glory.
The Division One side (128-5) avoided an upset against Plush (90-8) of Division Three to book their spot in the next round.
Tom Adams hit 32 with the bat to help Martinstown reach a decent total while Liam Banfield (3-21) took three wickets to restrict Plush’s progress.
A superb display from Dan Belt then saw Martinstown (151-4) maintain their unbeaten record in Division with victory over Cerne Valley (78 all out).
The Dorset all-rounder plundered 46 not out before claiming an impressive 3-7 haul.
Champions St George’s (1-5-7) though, remain at the summit courtesy of a comfortable win over Dewlish (67-9), in which Sean Walbridge (3-6) starred with the ball.
The only other top-flight fixture saw Puddletown (140-3) defeat cup holders Herrison Youth (88-7).
Charlton Down and Hazelbury Bryan continue to lead the way in Division Two.
The former (133-4) overcame Winfrith (130 all out) with six wickets to spare while the latter (143-5) had Alfie Fitzgerald (81) to thank in their win over Abbotsbury (112-7).
Abbotsbury (94-4) suffered a second successive defeat as they went down to Cattistock (97-3).
Plush (110-8) put their Knockout Cup disappointment behind them to beat Churches United (109-7) in a nail-biting Division Three contest.
Graeme Stephens hit an unbeaten half-century to aid Plush’s cause but the efforts of United’s K Sharp (4-20) went unrewarded.
Frampton (90-2), like Plush, recorded their third victory in three as they outscored Martinstown Seconds (86-5).
