TERRAS’ boss Matty Hale will run the rule over the town’s best local talent today when the club holds a trial game at Weymouth College (11am).
Several of last season’s under-18s squad will be amongst the players on show and there will also be a couple of trialists.
Hale said: “It will be mainly lads who played for last year’s youth team with a couple of trialists and other local players.
“Under-18s coach Tim Davis is the one who has been co-ordinating things and it will give me a good opportunity to have a look at what talent is around.”
Davis added: “Most of the under-18s that made appearances for the first-team last season will be involved, including the likes of Jamie Frampton, Ben Reiffer, Jordan Vincent, Ryan McKechnie, Ollie Tribe, Terngu Agera and Bostry Bansende.
“There will also be some under-16s there from Chickerell United, who won the Dorset League last season, and we also have a few coming from away including a Saudia Arabia under-21 international and two lads from London, one of which has been at Gillingham and Leyton Orient.”
Davis has also held talks with several other players who are interested in coming down for pre-season.
He added: “Due to the financial restraints at the club there will never be a better time for young players to come in and take their opportunity, particularly with Matty Hale and Andy Tillson at the helm, who are both committed to giving youngsters a chance and helping them develop.”
