WELLS City Harrier Adrian Marriott produced a magnificent run to win the Egdon Easy in Weymouth.
The Somerset athlete completed the 10km race in 32mins 49secs, finishing 2mins 52secs ahead of his nearest rival Mark Pittaway of Royal Manor Portland AC, who came home in 35mins 41secs to capture success in the men’s over-40s.
Chelmsford AC’s Michael Bridgeland (35mins 59secs) crossed the line in third to claim the men’s over-50s title while Egdon Heath Harrier Ben Davis (36mins 22secs) came fourth to grab the men’s under-19s crown.
Wendy King (39mins 18secs), also of Chelmsford AC, was the first lady home, just ahead of Egdon’s Steph Slade (39mins 22secs).
Royal Manor of Portland’s Hannah Sanderson took the ladies’ under-19s title while Egdon’s Tracey Baker and Weymouth St Paul’s Harriers’ Judith Boichot claimed glory in the over-40s and over-50s respectively.
Weymouth’s Andrew Wilkinson won the 2km race.
