FORMER Terras’ captain James Coutts has hailed the appointment of Matty Hale and Andy Tillson as the club’s new management team as a “positive step”.
However, the midfielder has also distanced himself from claims that he could still be in a Weymouth shirt next season by reiterating his wish to move abroad.
Coutts said: “I think the appointment of Matty Hale and Andy Tillson is very promising. “It has been well documented how well Paul Tisdale has done since leaving Team Bath and having seen Matty Hale as a player and heard a lot of good things about Andy Tillson, I am sure it will be a positive step for the club.
“They are very keen on bringing in young players and developing them, and I think that is a very good avenue for Weymouth to go down in the current climate.”
Commenting on his own future, Coutts added: “I am looking at different options and talking with a couple of clubs, and there is also a chance of going abroad so I will keep looking at it over the next two or three weeks before making a final decision.”
Coutts does not want to drop below Conference level should he stay in England but it is understood that he would prefer a move to either America or Australia.
