DORCHESTER have been boosted by the return of talismanic figure Rob Waite ahead of tomorrow’s home clash with Stalbridge (1.30pm).

The reigning Dorset Premier League champions are without a win in 2009 and currently languish at the foot of the table following three straight defeats.

Waite has missed the start of the season and it is hoped that his comeback will spark a county town revival.

Captain Martyn Richards said: “Rob’s back and not only will he contribute with both bat and ball, he’ll contribute with his attitude as well.

“We’ve noticed a difference in training already as the lads’ spirits have been lifted. We’re feeling very confident and hopefully we can translate that into a win tomorrow.

“We’ve also got Adam Rendell back but Quenton Miller and James Dunham are both unavailable.”

Tomorrow’s visitors to the Rec are in an identical situation to Dorchester having also lost their opening three games of the campaign.

Richards though, is expecting a tough match. He added: “Both sides will be out to break their duck and I doubt neither side would’ve expected this start to the season, so it will be an interesting fixture.

“They got promoted from Division One last year and it’s a hard league to get out of, as we know ourselves. The backbone of their squad is similar to the one we played against a couple of years ago and we know that they’re good with the new ball.

“I expected them to do better than they have done so far but it’s about us doing everything we can to put in a strong performance and get a good result.”

Dorchester: Richards, Haynes, Gerety, Maslen, Belt, Tweddle, Sibley, Herbert, Morley, Rendell, Waite.

* Division One outfit Dorchester Seconds travel to Marnhull tomorrow (1.30pm) while the thirds, current leaders of Division Seven, play host to Poole Town Fourths (2pm).
