DORCHESTER Town Youth enjoyed an international double during their tour of twin-town Lubbecke.
The county town’s Under-18s and Under-13s both won their respective tournaments in Germany and Under-13s’ manager Stuart Griffiths, chief organiser of the trip, paid tribute to the hospitality they received.
He said: “The Lubbecke people were very nice and exceeded all or any attempt by Dorchester to welcome them to our town, and they actually showed people what hospitality should be about.
“The weekend was a great success with the Under-18s winning their tournament and the Under-13s winning theirs.
“The host families treated and spoilt all our boys and exceeded any expectations we could ever have had. We have all made some very good friends and some boys are going back in the summer holidays.
“We have invited the clubs back to Dorchester next year and we are in the process of setting up a tour committee to allow us to return the favour and show them we are capable of welcoming them as they are with us.
“Finally I would like to make a few thank yous as without these people and generous donations, tours like this could never go ahead.
