Under-16 Ridgeway Shield
WEYMOUTH 0 DORCHESTER TOWN 2
A MATT Fry double saw Dorchester Town win back the Ridgeway Shield from rivals Weymouth.
A goal in each half from the predatory striker was enough to earn the county town the spoils at the Wessex Stadium, breaking Weymouth’s two-year grasp of the Shield in the process.
The one-off derby match has been contested annually for the last six years with both sides winning the prize on three occasions each.
Dorchester’s squad was made up of the Raiders, Stars and Magpies while Weymouth’s side consisted of players from their Under-15 and Under-16 ranks, and Chickerell United Youth.
The winners were managed by Phil Basford and Phil Hallett while the hosts had Chris Heelis in the dugout.
