MARTINSTOWN Cricket Club are celebrating winning the Echo Youth Sport Award for May.
The Lower Ashton Farm outfit, who run four youth teams as well as softball sessions for seven to 11-year-olds, have also bagged themselves £150 in prize money.
And the money will be used to purchase new equipment. Coach Lee House said: “Because we’ve had a lot of work done to the club’s ground we haven’t been able to spend as much money on the youth section as we would have liked.
“So we will be looking to use the money for various coaching equipment such as stumps and nets.”
