WEYMOUTH’S Bryony Webb was the star of the show at the Tesco Cup South West England Regional Final.
Webb’s impressive performances for Weymouth Girls Under-16s earned her the Player of the Tournament accolade, which was picked by former Bristol Rovers star Craig Hinton.
Across the three age groups – Under-13 boys, Under-14 girls and Under-16 girls – 21 teams from seven counties attended the showpiece, all battling it out for a place in the National Final. Weymouth played well in the tournament but, unfortunately, did not progress to the next stage of the competition.
Team manager Mark Rogers said: “The whole team played very well and we are thrilled that Bryony has been selected as Player of the Tournament. She is a very promising player and this award is the perfect ending to a fantastic season for Bryony.”
