Les Hallett Trophy Final
BELVEDERE v TUATARA
TUATARA player-boss Chris Meadows reckons his side are capable of pulling off a big surprise tomorrow by defeating Premiership champions the Belvedere in the Les Hallett Trophy final at the Wessex Stadium (10.30am).
The Belve captured their third successive title on Thursday with a 4-0 defeat of the Rodwell but the T-Bar are not fazed by big reputations.
Meadows said: “If things go our way early on I feel we have the players to pull off a surprise – after all both games between us this term have been tight but, admittedly, it was the Belve’s greater experience that saw them through each time. We are hoping to buck that trend in the morning.”
The T-Bar’s only real concerns are Andy Graham (knee) and Meadows himself, who may yet make a surprise return from a fractured metatarsal bone.
Meanwhile, Belve boss Bobby Darch is expecting to utilise the services of the same personnel who got them to the final.
He said: “We have a lot of respect for the T-bar and we are expecting a very tough test. I’m planning to use a similar side that has played in the previous rounds but we do have a full squad to select from.”
