WEYMOUTH Wildcats’ team manager Jem Dicken is confident his chosen riders will challenge for glory tonight in the Young Guns Individual at the Wessex Bus Raceway (7.15pm).

Terry Day, James White-Williams and Tim Webster will be joined by squad member Alex McLeod and 12 other competitors at Weymouth’s home track with all 16 riders bidding to be crowned champion.

Dicken is hopeful his men can ride to success despite the stiff competition that is sure to be provided by former Wildcat Kyle Newman and Scunthorpe Saints’ Kyle Howarth.

He said: “The line-up is mostly made of riders who are at six or seven for their respective National League team. We’ve also put Terry and Alex in to gain more experience.

“All riders will race each other and at the end of their five rides, whoever has the most points will win.

“I think Tim, James and Terry will be up there challenging along with Kyle Howarth and Kyle Newman. Howarth was somewhat of an unknown quantity when we went to Scunthorpe on Monday but it turns out he’s rather good.”
