WESTON-SUPER-MARE 2 Partridge 29, McGregor 47
DORCHESTER TOWN 2 Erskine 40, Walsh 61
DORCHESTER twice came back from a goal down to claim a vital Blue Square South point in a battling performance at the Woodspring Stadium.
The Magpies made a bright start with Nick Crittenden and Tom Mitchell going close in the opening minutes, as both Jacob Erskine and Phil Walsh asked questions of the home defence.
At the other end, on 22 minutes, Marc McGregor managed to just get the better of visiting keeper Gareth Stewart, but the ball ran behind for a goal kick.
However, against the run of play, Weston took the lead on 29 minutes when McGregor’s shot came back off the Town crossbar and former Weymouth man Scott Partridge scored his first goal for the club from the rebound.
As Town fought back, they forced their first corner and Walsh forced a decent save from home keeper Ryan Northmore.
He did better on 40 minutes though when the home side’s two central defenders Craig Rand and Alex Kite stood and watched as Erskine controlled Crittenden’s pass and beat Northmore with a shot on the turn from 15 yards.
The Magpies had a let-off two minutes before the interval when Mark Jermyn picked up a yellow card for a tackle on ex-Terra Jack Compton who was through on goal, and from the resultant free-kick Ben Wells saw his effort go just over.
Two minutes after the break, Weston restored their lead when McGregor controlled Partridge’s cross from the right and beat Stewart from the edge of the six-yard box.
As the county town side came back again, Northmore was forced to concede a corner from Erskine and the pressure was rewarded on 61 minutes.
Mitchell Nicholson forced a full-length save from Northmore at the expense of a corner.
And from Jamie Gleeson's flag-kick, Walsh brought the sides level.
Minutes later Walsh finished a strong run into the home penalty area by firing narrowly across the face of the home goal.
After that, the visitors conceded several free-kicks in dangerous areas, but Harris, Wells twice, Partridge, Compton and Rand fired over.
In injury-time, Stewart made the save of the game, going full length to his left to deny substitute and another former Terra Marvin Brown's 10-yard shot on the turn.
Magpies: Stewart, Jermyn, Smeeton, Gleeson, Vickers, Hill, Crittenden, Mitchell, Erskine, Walsh, Nicholson (Forbes 70). Subs not used: Watts, Clarke, Coward.
