DORCHESTER Middle School secured a hat-trick of silverware in the South West Dorset Football Finals held at Dorchester Town’s Jewson Stadium.
The county town school won the Year Eight, Year Six and Year Seven Girls’ titles beating Budmouth Technology College, St George’s Primary and Cranborne Middle School in the respective finals.
The girls ran out 3-1 winners against Cranborne while the Year Six showpiece was a tighter affair with Dorchester Middle School defeating St George’s 1-0 thanks to a fine drive from an acute angle by Patrick Thomas.
The Year Eight boys then beat Budmouth 3-0 to end the Weymouth establishment’s stranglehold on the trophy over recent years.
All the Dorchester Middle School players were outstanding but it was Tyler Hindley who broke the deadlock with a deft lob after a brilliant midfield interchange.
Dan Evans then doubled the advantage with a powerful strike early in the second half before the returning Harry Ingram wrapped up the victory moments later.
Head of PE and Year Eight team manager Matt Roberts said: “In a game that was team play orientated, it is difficult to single out players but Dennis Calcraft was stoic at right-back and Brandon Heal a man among boys.”
