Junior anglers battled the elements to decide the Dorchester District Angling Society 2024 Junior Points Championship.

The last points match of the year was held on Charlottes lake at
Harbourbridge Lakes near Chickerell last Saturday.

All of the focus was on the two title contenders, Austin Scott-Kennedy and Jack Copp in what was the deciding match of the year.

However, it was Josiah Wells-Parkes who stole the limelight by catching an impressive 38lbs 15ozs of Carp in some truly horrific conditions.

Storm Bert did its best to disrupt the day, but eight brave young anglers sat it out for the three-hour match, two of whom only came for fun.

Jack Copp came in second place with 29lbs 3ozs, with Austin Scott-Kennedy just behind with 26lbs 14ozs in third place.

Austin’s third place meant it was enough for him to win the 2024 Junior Points Championship with 258-points.

Dorchester District Angling Society junior secretary Graham Howard Congratulated Austin, Jack and everyone who has competed this year, winners or not.
