PORTLAND United will be looking to record back-to-back wins as they travel to relegation threatened Downton on Saturday.

The Blues won their first game in nearly two months last weekend after defeating Blackfield & Langley 3-1 at the Camp & Satherley.

It has been a tough couple of months for joint managers Josh Hickman and Shaun Bessant after picking up just seven points throughout October and November.

However, victory last time out means the club could record successive wins for the first time since September.

Coincidently, the last time the club won two league games in a row was in September, when they beat Downton 3-1 in the reverse fixtures.

The Robins will be hoping to turn their own fortunes around though after losing six of their last league games.

The Wiltshire-based club were also dumped out of the Southampton Senior Cup last time out, losing 1-0 to Blackfield & Langley.

With the Robins struggling to discover last season's promotion form, Hickman is positive his Blues side can get another three points.

Speaking ahead of the tie, the Blues boss said: "They are not in the best of form and it is another game for us to play our style of football,

"The last few weeks we have been giving a good account of ourselves and we will try to put our stamp on the game.

"But it is away from home so it won't be easy and in the first half we will probably have to grow into the game, but in the second half we will look to put or stamp on it."

Top goal scorer Greg Borthwick remains absent from the squad for the trip the Nest, but fellow striker Pat jenkins has been impressing in recent games, most notably last time out when he netted a brace.

The striker will be looking to add to his tally for the season tomorrow and has the confidence of his manager.

Hickman added: "Pat's performances have been at a good level, but as you know strikers get confidence from goals.

"Having scored twice last weekend he should be full of confidence and we have been looking to help him in that department and hopefully he can add to his tally this weekend."

Another player who has impressed since joining the club in October is Tom Jobe.

The young 16-year-old goalkeeper has had trials for England Schoolboys and has slotted right in since the departure of the experience Harrison Bruton.

Hickman said the teenage keeper has 'massive potential' and has settled in 'really well' with his teammates.

Along with Borthwick, Crit Clarke may also miss the tie with the defender set to face a late fitness test ahead of the tie.

Kick off at the Nest is at 3pm on Saturday, November 30.
