Magpies boss Tom Killick said that this weekend's clash with Taunton Town won’t be an easy game, saying they are a ‘decent outfit.’
Dorchester currently sit fifth place in the Southern League South table with 25 points and will host the Peacocks who are twelfth place, at the Avenue Stadium today.
The Magpies drew 2-2 with Merthyr Town last weekend, their second consecutive result of that nature in the league- with Matt Buse scoring a brace in the contest. The result was their third draw in a row.
After the game, Killick said that he was impressed with Buse’s performance, saying: “He played his part in the build-up to both goals he scored. He’s not had an amazing run due to the competition, he's starting to show what he’s about.”
Killick was critical of his side following the draw, with the Magpies just one point from seventh placed Bracknell Town, and six points behind third placed AFC Totton.
He said: “We had room with the draws, but we need to get back to winning ways as the three teams above us are starting to pull away, and the teams below us are getting closer which is something we’re aware of.”
The Magpies exited the Dorset Senior Cup in the Quarter Finals during the week after losing on penalties.
Speaking about the danger that Taunton Town pose, Killick said: “They’re a decent outfit, it’s not going to be an easy game and we’re very aware of the dangers they can bring.
“We had a very good atmosphere from our 800-strong supporters last week- they were exceptional, and it would be nice to replicate those numbers again on Saturday.”
Kick-off will take place at the usual time of 3pm.
