Weymouth captain Tom Bearwish has been described as a 'warrior' by Mark Molesley after recovering quickly from injury.

The Terras skipper returned in the 3-0 Dorset Cup win over Wimborne in midweek, grabbing a goal in the process, and his return has been welcomed by his manager.

With the games coming thick and fast, there was a worry that the midfield maestro may have been unavailable for a couple more weeks.

However, he came through the midweek game with flying colours and will be available for selection when the Terras travel to Somerset for their FA Trophy second round tie with Weston-super-Mare today.

Molesley said: "Our skipper returning is great, he made a quick recovery and that is typical of Tom - he is a warrior.

"He had taken a nasty knock, and we were worried he may have been out for a couple more weeks, but he actually declared himself fit last Saturday,.

"But we thought the extra 48 hours and the Wimborne game would be best and he came through that.

"In typical fashion he rose from the dead quickly and our skipper returning is great."

Today's cup game comes just a week and a half after the Terras went toe-to-toe with the National League South leaders - almost taking all three points at the Woodspring Stadium.

However, Molesley knows it will be another challenging game for his side - but one they are relishing.

He added: "Again, it will be a big challenge, Weston are top of the league and deservedly so, they are having a great season.

"They have been together a while now and keep refining what they do and are getting better.

"It will be a tough challenge, but we want games like this and we will not duck from it.

"We gave them a good run for their money last time and we were unlucky not to get all three points - i am expecting it to be another good encounter."

As well as Bearwish, Brandon Goodship has returned to the squad after a lengthy spell on the sidelines and is one step closer to full match fitness after starting in the midweek win over Wimborne.

Molesley hopes that having another natural goal scorer to pick from means his side can turn the recent draws into wins and put a run together.

He added: "We are progressing Brandon safely, the midweek game came at a good time to freshen things up a little and give some players minutes.

"Brandon being back on the pitch is a massive positive as he will help us turn these draws into wins and we have Mal Linton waiting in the wings."

Whilst Linton is still unavailable, Molesley revealed the forward is making 'good progress'  and is seeing a surgeon and hand specialist and said he is 'very close' to a return.

The only other player missing for the trip to Weston is 18-year-old striker Jaiden Bartolo who is currently away on international duty with Gibraltar.

Kick off at the Woodspring Stadium is at 3pm on Saturday, November 16.
