ST ALBANS 1

CALVIN Brooks came to Weymouth's rescue once again with a late equaliser at the Bob Lucas in the National League South.

The defender was quickest to react from a Jordan Maguire-Drew corner in the 86th minute to secure a vital point against St Albans.

The Saints had taken the lead with around 20 minutes to go through Ken Charles in what was a fiery game on the Dorset coast that saw Mark Molesley sent off in injury time.

The Terras made three changes from the draw with Weston-super-Mare last time out as Josh McQuoid, Ben Greenwood and Keelan O'Connell came in for Leo Hamblin, Andy Robinson and Jordan Maguire-Drew.

In what was an important game at the foot of the National League South table, it was the visitors who had the first opening of the game.

Castiglione latched on to a Dom Hutchinson pass but fired wide before Charles broke into the Terras box and unleashed a shot which was well blocked.

With just over 20 minutes played Castiglione was again involved and whipped in a curling cross for Zane Banton, but the Saints man was unable to find the target.

Christie Ward came close for the home side with a strike on the edge of the box but it was well saved by Michael Johnson.

As the game approached half time St Albans' Charles rifled in a low hit shot but Buse was stood firm to deny the Saints man as the team's went into the break all square.

After the break it was Weymouth who had the first chance as Bartolo forced Johnson into a good save as he used his foot to deny the 18-year-old striker.

However, just minutes after McCarthy stepped onto the field, St Albans broke the deadlock.

Castiglione was again allowed space down the right flank and pulled a pass back to Charles who placed his shot past Buse to give the visitors the lead.

But, as the game entered the final few minutes, an inswinging corner was sent in from Maguire-Drew and Calvin Brooks poked the ball home at the near post before wheeling away in celebration.

In a strange ending to the game Molesley was sent off in injury time for a second bookable effort.
