PORTLAND United will look to stop their run of six defeats on the bounce when they face Hythe & Dibden on Saturday.
The Blues have seen themselves slip down the Wessex League Premier table in recent weeks after a series of losses.
However, despite a narrow 1-0 defeat to Baffins Milton Rovers last weekend, Blues joint manager Josh Hickman believes the performance given can help the team bounce back to winning ways.
Speaking ahead of the trip to Hampshire, he said: "It is certainly not a must win but it would definitely be nice to win .
"It has been a tough few weeks, for different reasons.
"We have brought in Max Buckler and he will bring some experience to our young group, he was exceptional against Baffins who are a good team.
"But the performance gives us a good platform to build on so that we can play in a manner that we want to and get back to doing the basics right."
In terms of team news, top scorer Greg Borthwick could return to the matchday squad and is expected to take a late fitness test.
