Portland United have announced the departure of goalkeeper Harrison Bruton.
Joining the club in May 2023, the keeper was a mainstay at the Camp and Satherley Stadium. Often seen as a rising star at Weymouth, he played five times for the under-23s team before making the switch to Portland last year. He played his last game in the 5-0 defeat last weekend to Millbrook FC.
A statement from Portland United said: “Unfortunately we say goodbye to Harrison Bruton, we want to thank him for everything he has done for the football club.
“We wish him all the best in his next adventure in life, and hopefully see him at the Camp and Satherley Stadium soon. Once a Blue, always a Blue.”
In the same statement from the club, Bruton sent a message to fans saying: “To everyone at Portland, where do I start. I cannot thank you enough for the joy you have brought to me throughout the last couple of seasons.
“I have met some amazing people, made some lifelong friendships, and created memories that will stay with me forever.
“It’s been a pleasure to be a part of this fantastic journey, and share these amazing moments with the fans, my fellow teammates, everyone on the management team, and most importantly, the people who work tirelessly behind the scenes to make the club such a special environment.
“For anyone left wondering about Portland United, I can only say good things. A club that has given me more than money can buy. I hope one day our paths cross again.”
