SHERBORNE 52
DORCHESTER 7
Dorchester, with a much changed back line, were no match for a slick Sherborne side on Saturday as they inflicted Dorchester's fifth defeat of the season.
Two early tries, both from driving lineouts, set the hosts on their way with Hopkins, the home fly half, converting both tries.
Dorchester's scrum and lineout were both holding up well but despite some dogged defending three more tries and two conversions were conceded in the first half.
In danger of folding, Dorchester redoubled their efforts in the second half and, despite a series of injuries, managed to restrict their opponents to just three more tries in the second period.
Then, with the final play of the day, Dorchester fly half Oscar Saunders latched on to a loose ball and dribbled over the Sherborne try line for a consolation. Kieran Fry's successful conversion the last act of the day as the visitors slumped to another defeat.
Next up for Dorchester is the visit of Salisbury to Surcouf Park on Saturday, October 26 in the Counties One Tribute Southern South.
