Golfers from Weymouth battled it out for the honour of winning the Captain's Away Day.
Weymouth Golf Club visited the Dorset Golf & Country Club for day of friendly competition amongst its members for some cash prizes.
The annual event, held by David Watson, the captain of Weymouth Golf Club’s seniors section, saw sixteen three man teams competed for cash prizes.
Each Three man team played to their handicap with the best three man scores winning the top prize of £30.
The winning trio was Bob Pasham, Mick Pegg and Paul Whittle who won with a score of 86 points.
In second place was the threesome of Jim Sinclair, Terry Lawless and Simon Etherington with a score of 84 points and picked up £20 for their troubles.
Third place went to Peter Shuttleworth, Gary Cuff, Terry Dawe, who also scored 84, with their place determined by count back picking up the final cash prize of £10.
The prize money came from the entry fee paid by each competitor.
The Seniors Captain's Away Day is an annual event, arranged by the seniors captain, by way of thanking the seniors section of the club for their support and involvement over the past year of his Captaincy,
Winning member Whittle reflected on coming first: "I was more than a little surprised to have been on the winning team and attribute our success entirely to my teammates golfing talents."
