DORCHESTER 27

CHIPPENHAM II 18

Dorchester finally got their first win of the season with a bonus point victory over bottom of the Counties One Tribute Southern South table Chippenham.

After a dominant first half performance, the hosts were forced into a battle of a second half, reduced at one point to playing with just twelve men.

The visitors opened the scoring with a penalty from in front of the posts but Dorchester took control with tries from fullback Oscar Samuel, scrum half Jack Hayward and flying winger Flyn Drummond.

Unfortunately, Cohen Emery had an off day with his kicking and was unable to convert any of the three tries.

The visiting centre added a second penalty before Dorchester ended the half with two more tries, Hayward and Matt Fry adding to Dorchester's tally. Emery did add the conversion to Haywards try.

The second half was a much more scrappy affair.

At the end of the third quarter Chippenham forced their way over from close range before first Keiran Fry and then Joe Underhill were yellow carded.

Chippenham were awarded a penalty try and Josh White was also yellow carded leaving Dorchester were down to twelve players.

Despite being down by three players, they did not concede a single point for the rest of the game and took all five points.
