Portland United joint manager Josh Hickman has called on his team to 'step up' on the goal scoring front ahead of this weekend's vist of Hamble Club.
The Blues take on the Hampshire-based club in the latest round of Wessex League fixtures, and will be in for a tough afternoon at the Camp & Satherley against one of the league's most in form teams.
With that in mind, the blues boss wants his team to start sharing the goals around as he does not want to become dependant on Greg Borthwick, who has been in scintillating form of late.
The striker has netted 13 goals so far this season and is on a run of six games in which he has scored nine goals.
However, in that spell only one other goal has been scored by a Portland player, which was Pat jenkins strike in the 3-2 win over Laverstock in mid September.
Speaking ahead of the tie with Hamble, Hickman said: "Greg has been in really good form lately, and he could even have had a few more goals, but we need contributions from other players now.
"We can't just rely on him (Borthwick), we don't want to be a team like that, so others have to step up now."
Hamble have two players of their own who have been in good goal scoring form this season.
Midfielder Matthew Casey and striker Clayd Roach both have ten goals a piece and will a threat to Hickman's side this weekend.
Hickman added: "They are going to be tough, they are a good side, and have been for the last few years.
"They will have a strong side to pick from and we will have to be comfortable without the ball again.
"They have high quality players and midfielder's scoring goals and attackers scoring goals as well as a good defence, so we will have to be at our best."
The pitch at the Camp & Satherley is expected to be in a decent condition despite being waterlogged earlier in the week.
Due to the weather, Portland's Dorset Senior Cup tie with Weymouth was postponed, but Hickman expects the pitch to be fine for the weekend's game.
On the pitch he said: "I think the pitch will be fine and teh weather looks good, so it should allow us to play a good game.
"Both teams like to lay football so I am excited and we will be prepared for it."
There are no injuries concerns for the Blues going into the game, and there will be a welcome sight as new club captain Connor Callow is expected to take part in the warm up as he continues his recovery from injury.
Kick off at the Camp & Satherley is at 3pm on Saturday, October 12.
