MOTORCYLISTS from around Britain will be coming to Dorset for the biggest grass track racing event of the year later this month.
Hosted by the Wimborne Motor Cycle Club, The British Masters Grass Track Championships will take place in Corfe Mullen on Sunday, October 20.
It will see the country’s elite solo and sidecars battle it out to be crowned champion.
In the speedway-style 500cc solo event, ex-Poole Pirate and Oxford speedway star Chris Harris will head the lineup, but Harris faces stiff competition.
This includes world number three Zach Wajtknecht and number four Andrew Appleton, with local interest focused on Blandford rider Chad Wirtzfield, who has had a strong finish to the season.
In the 1000cc sidecar, crews will literally do battle as reigning champions Mark Cossar and Carl Blyth up against arch-rivals Gareth and Billy Winterburn.
With six crews in each race, each promises to be a spectacle to behold.
The day will see 35 action packed races, as well as hot food, side stalls, a licenced bar and grandstand, with spectators encouraged to bring chairs for what will be a fantastic family day out.
Practice on the day begins at 10.30am, before the first race at 12.30pm.
