MARK Molesley has said his team need to 'dare to dream' when they face National League side Forest Green Rovers in the FA Cup on Saturday.

Weymouth travel to Nailsworth, Gloucestershire, for the fourth qualifying round of the cup and come up against arguably the best team left in the draw - before teams from the Football League enter at the next round.

Forest Green were relegated from League Two last season and are already well on their way to securing promotion back to the Football League, sitting second in the National League.

However, despite going into the game as underdogs, Molesley believes his team need to have the belief they can win.

He said: "It is important we dare to dream and that we can get something from the game.

"It is still just 11 v 11 and that is the beauty of the game, anything can happen, so we are looking forward to it and we will give everything we have got for the shirt.

When asked about whether being the underdog could play into Weymouth's hands at the The New Lawn Stadium, the Terras boss added: "I don't think it could have been much tougher, their squad is star studded, it is still a League Two squad.

"They have an experienced manager and fantastic players, so we will have to work hard for it.

"We will pit our wits against them and use it as a challenge to bring the best out of us. We are the underdog but we have to be brave and also put our game on them.

"But we have got to steal any advantage we can, the sun will have to shine on us, and we will have to be at our best to get something out of the game and also have confidence in our own ability.

"We know we have had a tough start to the season, but if we can put in a good performance it can give us confidence for the rest of the season."

Preparations for the game in Gloucestershire have not been 'ideal' though, after the Terras midweek clash with Portland was postponed due to a waterlogged pitch.

Molesley had intended to field a strong side for the game as he looks to build consistency and confidence in the team.

On the game with Portland being postponed, he said: "It wasn't ideal and it was frustrating the game was called off, so it was not great.

"We were going to put out a strong team and use it as preparation for this game, but we did the best we could in the circumstances and got some training in."

In terms of team news for the game only Brandon Goodship and Malachi Linton are unavailable for the tie with both players still injured.

However, there is some good news with Goodship who is back on the grass building his fitness, but has yet to join in with team training.

Kick off at The New Lawn Meadow is at at 3pm on Saturday, October 12.
