Magpies midfielder Brendan Holmes has 'really impressed' boss Tom killick after making his first start for the club.
The Dorchester Town man joined the club after a successful trial period in summer after featuring in a number of pre-season friendlies.
However, the defensive midfielder, who last played competitively for Bemerton Heath Harlequins in the Southern League Division One, has had to wait his turn at the Avenue.
Despite, not featuring much for the club this season, Killick has been impressed by the players attitude and his first competitive start against Tiverton in the FA Trophy win last Saturday.
He said: "I was really impressed with his physicality and strength and how he dealt with the game against Tiverton - he was good in and out of possession.
"He has been waiting for his chance and it was a very accomplished performance.
"What makes it difficult for him is we are strong in that position but he has shown an exceptional attitude and he did not let anyone down."
