DORCHESTER Town manager Tom Killick has praised the 'good environement' created at the club in helping to secure the signing of Marcus Daws.

The 20-year-old forward is the latest player to fly through the doors at The Avenue and Killick has hailed the culture at the club as one reason why the winger re-joined the club.

He said: "Quite a few teams wanted him, but his affection for the club and the supporters made it easy for him to come back.

"I like that he wanted to come back as well, that is important for me, that is what we are trying to achieve.

"We want Dorchester to be a good club to play for, players soon hear where the best clubs to play for are and the supporters are helping with that too.

"It makes it easier to attract players, you reap what you sow, so if we make a good environment at the club, recruitment will be easier."

Daws made his second debut for the club when he came off the bench in the FA Trophy win against Tiverton last weekend.

Despite not being able to have a huge impact on the game, Killick was pleased the player was able to get some crucial minutes under his belt having had his playing time limited at AFC Totton this season.

Killick added: "It was a difficult game for him to come in to.

"It wasn't an amazing game for him to make an impact, the pitch was heavy, but it was good that he got 45 minutes having not played a lot recently."
