TOM Killick has said that Dorchester 'want to win' the Dorset Senior Cup and will not disrespect the competition.

The Magpies welcome Chris Herbst's Bridport side to the Avenue tonight after scraping through on penalties in the FA Trophy against Tiverton on Saturday.

Killick was not impressed by his side's performance in Devon, but admitted that cup games are all about 'getting through'.

Speaking ahead of the tie, he said: "We were not very good to be honest and Tiverton might feel aggrieved.

"We were not thrilled with how we played and Tiverton played well and defended well and that restricted us, we probably should have done better, but cup games are just about getting through.

"We were not at our best but we managed to prevail thanks to Gez who pulled off a great save and we held on."

Killick will be rotating his squad from the weekend, but believes it will be just as strong, if not stronger due to the squad depth at his disposal at the minute.

Skipper Jordan Nglao will return after serving a three match suspension whilst first team regulars Corby Moore and Will Spetch will play after missing the game with Tiverton.

Killick also revealed that the five substitutes from the FA Trophy win will also play, meaning that new signing Marcus Daws is likely to start from the off.

Killick added: "We have got quite a good squad at the moment and everyone is fit and available.

"The subs from the weekend will start and Jordan, Will and Corby will all come back in so we will have a powerful team.

"I feel the competition gets disrespected by some of the other local teams, but this is very much a competition we want to win and that is exactly what we will be trying to do."

Bridport will be no pushovers though, Chris Herbst side have been in good form lately and come into the game after a confidence boosting 7-1 win over Middlezoy Rovers.

It means the Bees are now undefeated in their last seven games, winning four on the bounce as they climb the South West Peninsula League.

Herbst has already spoken this season about wanting to go far in the cup competitions and will be looking to do just that when they visit the Avenue tonight.

The Bees will pose a threat going forward with the likes of Sol Ayunga, the younger brother of former Magpies and now St Mirren winger Jonah Ayunga, in good form having scored six in nine games this season.

Kick off at the Avenue is at 7.45pm on Tuesday, October 8.
