WEYMOUTH manager Mark Molesley has said his team has a 'big week' ahead, with two cup ties in the space of four days.
The Terras lost 1-0 to Enfield on Saturday, leaving Molesley the 'angriest' he has been all season. However, the Terras boss is now looking ahead to tonight's Dorset Senior Cup, when his team travels to local rivals Portland United.
He said: "After the last month we have had that was a real step back on Saturday, and a few old habits crept back in which didn't help us.
"We are the masters of our own downfall and we are struggling to put the ball in the net, but we are creating chances.
"If you look at some of the chances we have created we should be winning more.
"But it is a very big week for us, there are two big games and we will utilise the week the best we can.
"The cup comes at a good time and to get back on the pitch and give players minutes that need it and practice winning games of football.
"It is going to be tough though, its a local derby and Portland will be the so called underdog and they will be looking forward to pitting their wits against us."
Molesley is expected to field a strong starting line up at the Camp & Satherley, saying that the majority of the squad will be from the first team, but will give an opportunity to some under 23 players.
Only Brandon Goodship and Malachi Linton are injured for the game and Molesley will make a few late calls on which players need minutes and those who will benefit from training sessions.
Portland will also be making a few late decisions on who will play having played three times in a week already.
The Blues lost 2-1 at the weekend to Bournemouth Poppies in the Wessex League - the first league defeat of Shaun Bessant and Josh Hickman's reign at the club - with the management duo having over seen four wins and a draw in the previous five league games.
Blues joint manager Josh Hickman said: "We are very excited, it is going to be a brilliant tie for all of us here at Portland.
"It is exciting to test ourselves against one of the best local teams.
"We love to test ourselves against strong sides and it's going to be a tough test for many of our young players and it will give them an idea of what is needed to step up to that level and beyond.
"We were extremely disappointed on Saturday, it was the first game since being here over a month where our standards really dropped.
"We will want a reaction and to bounce back with a good performance and see where that takes us."
Kick off at the Camp & Satherley is at 7.45pm on Tuesday, October 8.
