Dorchester Sports picked up a 'vital' three points after beating Hamworthy United Reserves 4-2 at Magna Road on Saturday.

Ashley James' side continued their charge at the top of the Dorset Premier League after coming from a goal down.

Jahrel Campbell opened the scoring for the home side, but Alex Godfrey equalised after 20 minutes as he put the ball past Harvey Bartlett.

Godfrey would turn provider with his free kick finding Dereck Wall at the back post to give Sports the lead.

After the break Godfrey doubled his tally with a brilliant 20 yard strike before Sol Roche made it 4-1.

Hamworthy had a man sent off for two yellow cards and Sports' Dylan Riley was also shown a straight red card for a late challenge.

Arche Southern got one back for the home side late on but it was too little too late.

After the game, Dorchester Sports manager Ashley James, said: "We were really poor first 20 minutes, but after we got the first goal, I think we controlled the game pretty well, and scored some really good goals.

"It was vital we picked up three points and we managed to do that, we have had a lot of away games already this season so to win 6 from 8 is a good return."
